Could someone please provide more information on how pyrotechnics in spacecraft subsystems work?

"Pyrotechnics are electrically initiated explosive devices used to operate valves, ignite solid rocket motors, and explode bolts to separate from or jettison hardware, or to deploy appendages. They obtain their electrical power from a bank of capacitors which are charged from the main bus several minutes prior to the planned detonation of a device."

Could someone please provide more in-depth information on pyrotechnics in spacecrafts?

What would you consider to be more in-depth?
    On which of those items?

I need more technical information on pyrotechnics and especially spacecraft pyrotechnics.

What do you mean by loading and timing? I don't know enough about pyrotechnics to know which of these uses I need.

Well since they're designed to move something (in some cases, not, of course when used as separation devices) then you have to know how heavy the item to be be moved is: the load. And how quickly is it needed to be moved? How far? What other loads will be imposed (for example when the main load is being moved are there any other forces likely to be acting on it, especially in other directions?), etc etc.
    Like I said, it's application-specific.

Then maybe as seperation devices since on spacecrafts they are used as explode bolts to separate from or jettison hardware, or to deploy appendages.
