In the ceiling area over Cheops' coffin are a series of stone slabs which are spaced but stacked for many layers going toward the top of the pyramid. What is the purpose of these slabs so stacked
************* M*W: Welcome to Sciforums! Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but I have read in Egyptian history and archeology that Cheops was known as King (Pharaoh) Khufu and was also referred to as the patriarch Joseph, familiarly known to us in bible stories. References: http://www.answers.com/topic/khufu-cheops.htm http://www.varchive.org/ce/pyramids.htm Some of this information may overlap. Now my question is: If Cheops, Khufu and Joseph were all the same person with various names, was Job just another name or was he a dynastic relation? Is the bible wrong, or is it just grossly misunderstood?

The bible never even suggested that Joseph became Pharaoh. I do not think that there has ever been support from other sources for either the story of Joseph in Egypt or for the Exodus. I have never heard of any historial evidence identifying the Pharoah who ruled at the time of Joseph. Even if the biblical stories have some basis in fact, there is no way to date either the arrival of Joseph in Egypt or the date of the Exodus.
