I hear so many people argue against the Fed, it's hard to find a voice for it. The interesting thing here is what she's saying and what the other voices on the matter say are definitely contradict each other.

Elizabeth Warren claims the Fed stabilizes the economy; before 1913 we had intermittent times of instability (recessions?). People like Ron Paul claim the Fed makes things worse, including the Great Depression. If he's right that the Fed is not transparent, then I will immediately give more credence to his point of view. Why would any agency think it is above audit? There are immediate concerns of corruption in such a case.

Either way, the media needs to do a better job covering this issue. The economy is arguably the hardest thing to understand relative to all the issues the media has broached in the last year, but it does the worst job in presenting the material in a way the average American can understand.

And why the hell is Bill Maher the one talking about the relevant issues? Bill Maher, the comedian, is more concerned about finding the truth than the outlets (Fox, MSNBC, CNN etc) which shape 80% the debate for public opinion?

No, she claims that regulations brought in by FDR in the 1930s stabilized the boom/bust cycle.
