I've been suffering recent Ipod sync failures, and as a result some of my songs are uploaded and others aren't. Before, It would just freeze the ipod, which i would then reset, with the cable attached. Then I would remove then connect the cable, and it would work fine.
Now, everytime I try to connect, it says sync failure.
Anyone got a solution?
Or failing that, A better mp3/video player with more than 8GB ?

Have you done a restore on your iPod?

Sad. Don't know what to say. I've only had my iPod since I got this Christmas, but I've experienced a few times where a song either loads late, or perhaps doesn't load at all, but that's pretty rare. I think that's why it's advisable to "eject" it in iTunes before you disconnect it physically.
Your problem sounds like maybe a hardware or "software" issue with the iPod itself.
Have you done a restore on your iPod?
That sounds like a prudent suggestion before doing anything more drastic, like buying another one!
How old is it?

Also, If the song is not in a playlist, will Itunes not sync it ?

I'd recommend doing a full/hard reset of the iPod (a restore, as Liebling suggested). It may be that the software update didn't work properly.
By restoring, you'll wipe the iPod, but once you plug it into the computer, it'll re-sync everything back over. Only thing you'll loose is some time waiting for all the music to resync.

Have you dropped it?
I second river winds recommendation.
take it to apple reps (the so called genius bar), it should be replaced if the problems with the player h/w; and ya it'll be without a cost.
