Everyone is lazy about things they dont want to do unless you have a high degree of discipline.
Nobody is ever lazy about things directly associated with survival, or else they would be dead.

I'm going to say boredom can be a cause. Depression, lack of motivation.

Evolution. It's wise to do as little work as necessary.

Sometimes people procrastinate until the pressure of something becomes so great that they get up and do it because the stress of not doing it is more disturbing than the actual task. All the stress energy then turns into a fireball of focus on the task. Its a bad habit I am quilty of when meeting a deadline.

Laziness could be nonchalace (I don't care attitude), sabotage (self destructiveness)

well that happens to me at time.. i would suggest that firstly before studying "SET A GOAL".. because once u set a goal u will work towards it, not working and studying just aimlessly.. and of course you want to get good grades in your finals so create a picture in your head that you have achieved your goals but of course that cannot happen by mere chance, it needs hard work and not only working hard but SMARTLY! and secondly remember that time is the most important thing in life.. once gone cannot be reversed so use every single sec of it precisely.. dont WASTE time!!! and have a time table while studying and follow it.. dont waste time making one while you dont follow it.. and remember make a time table which is realistic!
    all the best

That's pretty much how I got thru high school and undergrad. It wasn't until Optometry school that the volume of material I had to learn became too great to learn in one nite and I had to actually start studying all the time.

Eat 5 baby carrots for a meal.
Go speed walking or hike the mountains if you got some.
Suck on a whole bulb of garlic (DON'T CHEW!)

Go to playlist.com and listen to Thelonious Monk

Good music always helps me to enjoy studying.

Take study breaks by going on short walks or taking short power naps. If your mind gets foggy, take a 10 minute walk. Walks send electrical pulses to both sides of the brain alternately, thus warming you up for study.

lol thanks guys. I typically study for a test a week or two early so that I don't have to cram up the last day. I usually have a rule not to study an entire day before a test.

For some reason though I couldnt do it last week...

Working for the purpose of relieving stress is very dangerous if it becomes the usual way a person approaches their work, as the focus on simply relieving stress can take over completely. This way, a person with such work habits will begin to primarily seek to relieve stress - and distractions, drugs, sleeping are far quicker stress relievers than work.

No you misunderstand. Its not a way of relieving any and all stress. The stress from procrastination getting close to a deadline when you haven't written anything becomes too great and so the work gets done because you will do anything to get out of the stress of worrying about the work not getting done.

If you were truly lazy you'd have learnt it the first time round.
That removes the need to do any further studying/ revision.
