I've noticed while being here that many people who I thought were medication-free actually weren't. This is an anonymous poll to see what percentage of active posters on sciforums are on medications - and what type of medications those are.

Oh and you can choose more than one option if you need to.

my type of drug isn't listed.
i use a beta blocker to control my heart rhythm and blood pressure caused by an errant thyroid.
i've since had my thyroid nuked with radioactive iodine, which cost me about 5 grand for the scans and the "operation" which was nothing more than swallowing an iodine pill
this has decreased my need for inderal and has taken care of my hormonal problems.

    edit:
after checking the poll again i noticed "heart meds". maybe my next goal should be some glasses.

I thought about adding the option "Illegal drugs used for medication" but in the end decided that "Other" would be sufficient for that.

Why do the percentages add up to 137.5%? Shouldn't they be proportioned on a scale of 100?

I voted: "I use little to no medications (less than 3 times a year)".

But to be honest, I don't think 3 times a year is a little.. thats a lot.
I've have almost never used any medication.

Because you allowed for multiple options to be selected by the same user.
Some have picked more than one option.

no, because at least one person voted more than once.

Yah, in a way I agree with you - I don't take anything when I get sick, I just fight through it (although there were periods where I did take medicine when I was younger.) I wanted this thread to be more about regular medications though so I went with 3 or less.

    What difference does it make?

How is it useful for you to know that (as a made-up example) 19% of Sciforums members take allergy medications? Why would that influence your interactions within threads?

    I just use Multivitamins.

Other then when i was a child and forced to take medication for common illnesses i have yet to take medicine for anything since the age of 16.

I have always noticed that sickness is better left to heal itself, as long as you rest and drink a lot of water.

I only take meds recreationally, and nothing that I know causes serious damage. Mostly SSRIs as far as pills go.

Should be higher: even after specifically looking I didn't see one of mine until AFTER I'd hit the "Vote now" button.
FWIW - allergy: cats and house dust of all things.
