So it seems there is even more benefits to drinking coffee daily... i found this because i considered quitting:bawl:.... but it would seem that would be a bad idea.
read------> http://men.webmd.com/features/coffee-new-health-food
Though they don't really mention what KIND of coffee to drink, i would assume it would be black coffee or very light cream and sugar...
but the fact that it can actually prevent type 2 diabetes and prevent cavities was good enough for me.:xctd:
Yes... i understand that none of this research is 100% conclusive, i just think it's a step in the right direction.

Yippee!
Is this because of the caffeine or because of some other constituent ?
Edit: Never mind I found it.
Some of coffee's reported benefits are a direct result of its higher caffeine content: An eight ounce cup of drip-brewed coffee contains about 85 mg -- about three and a half times more than the same serving of tea or cola or one ounce of chocolate.
"The evidence is very strong that regular coffee consumption reduces risk of Parkinson's disease and for that, it's directly related to caffeine," DePaulis tells WebMD. "In fact, Parkinson's drugs are now being developed that contain a derivative of caffeine based on this evidence."
YAY !!! :D

Don't get me wrong, Coffee has side effects that could potentially be bad... but man the health benefits they are finding create a very long list.
It even has antioxidants that are compared to those in orange juice.... i guess that why i don't get sick too often... i drink so much friggin coffee

I also just fact checked some of this with my good friend who is an M.D. and he confirms a lot of the benefits

People find it strange when I tell them I have never been a coffee drinker. I make coffee for other ppl but have never drank it. I do however find myself inhaling the aroma coming from the jar.....smells so good but I have no interest in drinking it.

It's not a bad thing.... there are other ways to get the same benefits from coffee... my friend said that you can get the same benefits from drinking low calorie energy drinks, dark tea, and very dark chocolate.
Your are kind of like i am with alcohol... no matter how much i am around it i just cannot get a taste for it.
Does it matter what kind of coffee? I currently favour the Mysore Bababudangiri, but I also like the dark roasts from Sumatra, Tanzania and the Vienna Roast.
Does the amount of roasting matter?

i would imagine your standard medium roast coffee would be the ideal way to go... but i would also imagine the darker coffee's have the same benefit as they sometimes contain a shitton more caffeine.
Is it good if I like to crunch on the beans?

Yeah I am a Coke Zero or Diet Pepsi nut but I don't find that it wakes me up or anything. I think my body is immune to it or something.

Yeah me neither. I used to drink when I was a teenager but don't care for it all anymore. When ppl give me bottles of wine etc for gifts, they just sit around unopened so I usually just regift them.

may just be a matter of getting enough of it.
just like when you work out enough times using the same workout you get to a plateau effect.
Same thing works with caffeine... like when i first started drinking coffee it would wake me up right away... but i have become so numb to it that i have to drink large quantities to get that full effect.
Also, soda doesn't contain nearly as much caffeine as coffee... so you may need to drink more of them... or you could always drink a sugar free rockstar energy drink, that'll zip ya

Or perhaps chemicals are different from ground coffee drips. Why would you take chemical drinks when you can have tea or coffee? I take the occasional coke, but not when there is a good tea, coffee or wine available. I'll even take coconut water or freshly squeezed lemon instead

Because cold drinks in a bottle are more practical. Besides, I really like it's taste.

I have never had any of those Red Bull, Rockstar, etc drinks. I had a few sips of Red Bull and didn't like the taste at all. Second of all those drinks are so expensive over here, I don't find it worth it.

true that, for the cost of one redbull, you could get a regular size bag of coffee that could last you a week or two
or in my case... 2 hours!

I love the smell of coconut. I take it you don't like chocolate with coconut inside? those are really good.
I agree the taste of Red Bull is vile! The other one I had a sip of (can't remember)
tasted just as bad.
V_I don't you find it expensive ? because you seem to drink it regularly.

Diuretic. Because of its high potassium content. Its good for blood pressure too.
Never heard of anyone gagging on fresh coconut. Its the most delicious thing I have ever tasted!

what kind of sweetener do you guys use in coffee?
Honey, Sugar, Artificial?
I use honey.
I drink my coffee black and unsweetened.

Honey in regular coffee? When I make coffee for my " MAN" lol I always use sugar.
He isn't into the artificial stuff. I also buy those flavored creamers like Hazelnut Cream,
Irish Cream, Mocha Almond etc. Sometimes I also buy the flavored coffee, he likes
French Vanilla.

Stevia extract. Be careful as it's around 100x as sweet as sugar. I'll wet about 6mm of the end of a knife, dip it in the powder and what sticks to the knife is usually enough to sweeten 1 to 1-1/2 cups of a beverage. ;)

I read some time ago, an article about the finding of some Swedish researchers regarding the effect of coffee in reducing breast cancer. It's all good! I personally don't drink coffee regularly, but just sometimes. Like if I want to go reading some novel in cafe, I usually take some cake and coffee without sugar.
