Has anyone purchased and used this program?
If so, was it worth it?
I'm thinking about getting it to improve my German. I know enough to get around, but not nearly enough to feel completely comfortable.

I've heard nothing but good things about RS.
But if you otherwise need help with German grammar/sentence structure, I can help.
I graduated from HS in Nuernburg and was more or less fluent when I left the country. I've lost a bit of 'vokabeln' but I still know most of 'die grammatik'.

I regret not learning German while I was stationed there for three and a half years. I learned only five very important phrases while I was there.
Ein großes Bier, bitte.
Möchten Sie mit mir tanzen?
Wie heißen Sie?
Wo ist die Toilette?
Kannen Sie mir das auf der Karte zeigen?
Sad, isn't it? I spent most of my time in bars, pubs and beer gardens... Oh, and at Volksfests.

Stop looking at me like that, Mike! I was single and in a foreign country. I had to do what I had to do to survive. :p
As for Rosetta Stone, I have a friend who learned Italian from it and just got back from three months in Italy and he had a great time. He had no trouble communicating.

Thank you, it's been over 10 years now. I'm a little rusty.

Haha, an other language I've gotten unused to. =( I hate myself for having neglected it this much. Aber ich sprech immer noch gut genug um mich mündlich zu verständigen was leider nicht der Fall ist wenn es ums schriftliche geht.

Rosetta Stone sucks. Period.
Edit: Yes, I have tried it, and it's most definitely not worth the >9000 dollars they're asking for it.
