Is there a magnetic field inside of a bar magnet? Where would the magnetic field be the strongest?

Each atom in the magnet contributes to the magnetic field and has a magnetic field of it's own, but the magnetic field of the magnet as a whole is generally only from pole to pole

Do an image search on google for "Magnetic Field" you'll find some images of bar magnets and how the fields themselves apply. Notably a good illustrations is a bar magnet under a piece of paper covered in iron filings.
