In chemistry, these structures are identified associated to membrane ions.

The question i have is the ion the other half of a potential between the structures?

    No, they aren't.

Please rephrase the question to make what you're asking clearer.

Do you even know what a cation is?

    Or a counterion?

"A counterion is the ion that accompanies an ionic species in order to maintain electric neutrality. In table salt the sodium cation is the counterion for the chlorine anion and vice versa."

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/990294?dopt=Abstract

Effects of cations upon chloroplast membrane subunit. Interactions and excitation energy distribution.

    Arntzen CJ, Ditto CL.

When isolated chloroplasts from mature pea (Pisum sativum) leaves were treated with digitonin under "low salt" conditions, the membranes were extensively solubilized into small subunits (as evidenced by analysis with small pore ultrafilters). From this solubilized preparation, a photochemically inactive chlorophyll - protein complex (chlorophyll alpha/beta ratio, 1.3) was isolated

Now do some homework before imposing on threads (any of them)

Yes, but that's not what your question was, your original question was:

Cations (and Anions) and their counterions are not restricted to membranes, or membrane chemistry, hence, No.

The question that you pose in the second sentence, as it is phrased, is difficult to extract meaning from, hence the request for clarification as to what it is you're asking.

    **Moderator Note**
Name calling, and the abusive comments you made in your most recent post are unwarranted, and will not be tolerated. In future please consider rewording your original question rather than resorting to abuse and name calling, as continued abuse and name calling may result in disciplinary action being taken.

and did you answer it or even address the original question of the thread?

never said restricted, so the NO is wrong!

    perhaps a re-read

a membrane is dividing the 2 structures

maybe the dipole and exchange conversation on the other thread can work in this one too?

didn't you say something about, 'NO exchange without the other' on the other thread?

how about applying this to the 'resonant transfer accross a membrane' account?
