Has anyone here had dental implants for your canine? My pinscher is losing one of his lower canine teeth because it came in incorrectly. As a result, I am looking for a veterinary dentist that performs tooth implants. The only ones that I have found are mainly in California and Florida, which wouldn't be a problem because I go to California often and we're going to Florida in December, but it would be nice to have a cosmetic veterinary dentist locally.

Do you really think the dog is handicapped because of a missing lower tooth? Maybe it is a big problem I don't know enough. But it doesn't sound serious enough to order an implant.

dogs loose teeth all the time, why bother with an implant?

I don't even want to know how much that would cost.

    It's a $1,000 for the implant, or $600 for a bridge.

That's true, but they are wild animals. These are domesticated which makes the difference.

Is missing the tooth a real concern? What will happen if you don't fix it? I am guessing probably nothing. If you ask a vet though, or this canine dentist  I am sure they will tell you that it is something THAT MUST be fixed.
It is the same as how the dentist tells almost everybody that walks in they NEED braces. It is all just a big money making industry in my opinion.

and what is the difference. I think that wild animal needs the teeth for than a pet. Compare trying to kill an animal with bad teeth vs eating dogfood.
