and after about half an hour i fell over, (i was not drunk) my back ached, my ankles hurt, and my calves hurt like mad, so if they are good for you how can cause so much pain?

i now have a gash on my knees where i fell ass over tit last saturday night?

so are they suppose to be good for you?

They do look cool...It probably takes practice to walk in them.

You need to get heels balanced for your feet, weight and size.

Try them on and walk around, if anything hurts they are not for you.

I find investing a little more money and getting well made balanced heels is always worth it. And of course, practice helps.

as far as i can see your toes will be mashed into the V shape at the front, you have to balance on that point where your heel should be. I cant see how they would be good for anything.

No, it's a known fact they are not good for you. If you have any kind of back or spine issues already, they will tell you to STAY AWAY from heels. I actually hate walking in them and don't last that long when I do. I wear them when I go out with my man, that's about it. I find that when my jeans are too long and I wear boots with heels I look a lot taller.

They are definitely not good for your posture. Don't wear em if they're painful.

I wear platform boots for that purpose. They add to your height, but none of the discomfort you get from high heels.

I actually don't wear em when with a guy though. I got a thing for really tall guys. O_O

But I like my clothes! They make me feel confident, and they express my nature and my mood. He can always take my clothes off afterwards when we get back to my place or his....or a public loo....

Yeah I have a lot of shoes with Wedge heels. They add the height but are easy to walk in.

    Really?

    Um. Wow.

Don't get me wrong. I've had a few carnal moments in a stall or two, but I would not say "quite a few".

lucifers angel, from lissoning to my sisters and PB i wouldnt suggest switching to high heels straight up. you need to build up your calf mussles to surport yourself walking on the different angle

I know this was supposed to be a thread for the gals....but I'm a guy who wouldn't mind be a few inches taller...I actually bought my cowboy boots, because they are the only heels a straight guy is allowed to wear...unless your Prince. They kill my feet, I don't know how you gals do it.

Ummm calf muscles don't really have much to do with it. High heeled shoes make the calf muscles look more refined or they look better. But high heeled shoes are really bad for the spine since it throws out the body's balance, forcing the spine to readjust to having the heels be higher than the toes.. even with low heels. So instead of a natural posture, your spine is forced to readjust to support your weight. So it's not the calf that needs 'building up'. The whole issue with high heels is that it places a huge amount of pressure on your spine.

If you need to wear heels, don't wear it for too long a time. If it hurts, stop wearing it immediately. And thin heels are not that good. Select lower heels and wedged ones that distribute the height of the shoe evenly, then your foot isn't too arched up and your heels won't be too much higher than your toes.

Ewww.. To echo Sam.. "A loo?"

That's not really something you want to be advertising far and wide, VI.
