How do I solve this problem.
I have flat feet, and this means that despite not being overwieght and walking regularly, if I walk for more than a few days, (say travelling or hiking), My ankles start to hurt. And I can't walk.
Orthopedics are one option, another is walking more and more to get used to the strain.
Anyone else have this problem ?

I think it might be something other than being flat footed.
I'm flat footed and I get nothing of the sort.
Maybe you should see the quack.

Did you do a lot of running regularly ?
btw, I'm completely flat footed, If My feet are on the carpet, there is no gap.
You might have what is known as "rigid flatfoot". Have you seen a doctor about the pain?

I do a lot of skating, and run sometimes.
My feet also leave no gap at all.
Maybe your feet are extra bad, probably best to see the quack still.

No, I use an anti inflammation thing called voltaren.
Keeps the pain away, only to return once the analgesic feeling has worn off.

Start doing foot nd ankle workouts, change the posture of your foot and arch it, use your toes more and do some simple curling type motions with them with the floor and some pressure.
Walk correctly and over time you can change the structure of your feet, you need to get used to using your feet and doing things differently, once you start training your feet/ankles/toes ect you will figure out correct and incorrect posture by the feel of it.

heres a website with some workouts ive never heard of, im going to try them myself.
Do some ankle raises aswell which will work your calf muscles too. try them at different angles and focus on correct foot posture, you need to get good muscle memory as a foundtion to reconstruct your foot and ankle over time.
You can change almost every part of your body through training.
