    Know that this is not AdBlock, rather an AdBlock equivalent. A trick that people used to use before Firefox extensions.

    http://www.privoxy.org/
    Or if you have windows just click: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=11118&package_id=23580&release_id=620282

    Now go to the google wrench (Settings)

    --> "Under the hood"
    --->Network --> Change Proxy Settings

    Go to 'Connections' tab.

    Near the bottom "LAN Settings", click.

    Go to advanced.

    In HTTP & Secure put in the following settings...

    IP: 127.0.0.1
    Port: 8118

    Leave the others blank.

    Save settings appropriately.

    Now you're technically running an internal proxy, it's not the exact same thing as AdBlock. But if you prefer to run Chrome, this is the best I know of for now.

    You could just edit your hosts file to loop internally any Canonical name associated with advertising. (doesn't work with IPa's alone)

    Just requires knowing what you are doing but you don't need to install any other software or use external proxies.

    That's essentially what the software does, only it doesn't change the computer configurations. It's better for people who have no experience.
