Remember, John McCain is alleging that Sarah Palin knows more about energy then anyone in America.

This afternoon on CNN, host Wolf Blitzer showed video from last night’s townhall with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK), in which Palin — whom McCain said “knows more about energy than…anyone else in the United States” — was asked how she would keep oil from new domestic drilling in the U.S. market. In a serious understatement, Blitzer called her answer “not exactly easy to understand.” Watch it

“Oil and coal? Of course, it’s a fungible commodity and they don’t flag, you know, the molecules, where it’s going and where it’s not. But in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first,” Palin said. “So, I believe that what Congress is going to do, also, is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it’s Americans that get stuck to holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here. It’s got to flow into our domestic markets first.”

Even if she said something clever, her voice would still piss me off.

I am not joking when I say this: the best thing Palin can do right now for her party is to smile and nod incessantly.

Thats a very tedious way of calling for an export ban.

She needs to use her mouth more like her shotgun...shoot straight!

Well she was in a difficult position. If she admitted that the United States was currently shipping about 10 percent of production to places in Asia like China, it would seriously undercut the McCain argument for increasing domestic oil production. If she outright supported an export ban, she would go against McCain's free trade (allowing corporations to do whatever the hell they want to do) position. It was a good question. I hope this is not the first or the last time we hear that question asked of both candidates and their vice presidents.

Fungibility versus liquidity, I'm not clear as to the difference.

As for Palin, does she have an MBA or PhD? Why is she an energy expert?

And granted, she is not the brightest bulb in the house.

Fungibility is different from liquidity. A good is liquid and tradable if it can be easily exchanged for money or another different good. A good is fungible if one unit of the good is substantially equivalent to another unit of the same good of the same quality at the same time and place.

Fungibility does not imply liquidity, and liquidity does not imply fungibility. Jewels can be bought and sold (the trade is liquid), but individual diamonds are not interchangeable (diamonds are not fungible). Indian rupee bank notes are interchangeable in London (they are fungible there), but they are not easily traded there (they are not liquid in London).

I think it's because she is from Alaska - no, seriously.

Is it just me or does Sarah Palin appear to be a female MILF version of that tosser presently in the WH? It's as if there's some sort of GOP factory that pumps out poor quality human cyborg clones?

It's probably not just you, but it's not me. She is definitely ni MILF.
