After a week of no power. Hurricane Ike really did some damage.

It made me realize how much life sucks without electricity. Damn, how did they survive in the old days? No AC....:shudders:

They weren't used to and dependent upon a life of lazy "convenience".

What amuses me is how close to MW you live. Perhaps you two should get together some time.

Glad you made it through the storm, Norse. As a fellow Texan I was worried about you.

Glad that you made it through the storm without any major damages done to your home. I unbderstand what being without electricity is about and that's why I just pack up and leave after the third day without it. I travel about 200 miles or so to friends house and stay there until the electricity comes back on. Last time I had to wait 2 weeks when Wilma hit. They don't mind me there for they visit me here during the year and have a good time.
