    Hi!
For the last two days I've been making a website for a project of mine.
Please, look at it and tell me, what you think - usability, look, feel, etc.
I'm interested in how it looks from aside.

    http://our-fire.net

    Thanks!

Not really, it's deliberate. I call the style pure minimal.
But thanks! Thought people would notice the lack of usual glam.

Or maybe I'm missing something... Why do you think it needs some colour and graphics? Is the look not pleasing to the eye, does it bother you for some reason? If so, what's the reason?

You might try putting a solid color background, like a grey or something behind your header and links..I think that might help.

It's just a little bland, it needs some contrast of some sort. I'm not saying it looks bad or anything..I like the clean lines

I'm writing down "bland" in my list.
It's not my baby or anything, I appreaciate all suggestions!

The reason it looks bland to me is because the content doesn't take up enough space on the screen. I'm using the default text size in firefox, with 1280x1024 screen resolution. I don't know if it's just small on my particular display settings, but I think the main problem is that there is too much empty margin space around the edges. To me it looks like the content occupies maybe 30% of the browser window.

Yes, that is so - it is small. I didn't think of that.
    Thanks for pointing that out.

Actually "Bland" can be handy if you are selling a product, you see all the details you maintain the blandness, you just add a "picture" of your product because it's the only picture on the site, it will Stand out.

So if this site is about Film Avatar, then you should get some Still images from your Film to place on there or you could copy the embed code from Youtube and the like etc.

An image and a few words is enough to get peoples visual interest, you have to remember in the era of Multimedia people no longer read as much, they need visual clues as to what something is about without even a written word being seen. (I know, it's a sad state... all those poor books are now lonely)

    Humm, I see.
The site is for a small film studio I've set up with some friends.
It's not for promotion, because we'll be promoting through file sharing networks, youtube, dailymotion and other video websites, in which there will be a link to our website.
So the site is intended for those who wish to learn more about our projects, i.e., people already interested.
But I get your point and will put images in pages which deal with a particular film.

    Thanks!

It's a good colour scheme, plays on the darkness/light....duality. The font goes well with it,Contrary to a previous post, I'd say stick with the colour scheme, less is more 'n all....but I thought the orange and green text felt a bit 'extra' - it dosen't go with anything else....just a thought...

    Ok, thanks, firdroirich and kenworth.

I'll play around with everyone's suggestions during the weekend, if I'll have the time.

    My two bits:

    1. Font is small, difficult to read
    2. Background is too bright, creates glare
    3. Needs colour and graphics.
    4. Need some red.

Looks fine but I dont care for pure white backgrounds with black text because of the high contrast. Keep the background in the grayscale family but not whit will warm it up a bit and make it easier on the eyes. Is having a stat counter is really necessary?

Absolutely. The hardest part is not to check it everyday.

    Thanks.
There definitely won't be any more colour and graphics, except, as Stryder suggested, there will be images on film pages.

I'll most likely exchange what colour there is now with Sam's suggested red, so there won't be any more green or orange. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'll leave it at black and white mostly, I dislike grey scale, and because I'm not selling anything, I don't care if I lose a few viewers because of that.

About the counter - it's invisible any way, and is just a few lines, so I don't think it bothers anyone. It's primary to see from which links how many people come to our site.

I'll slightly increase font and overall website size,

As you see our style at least for now is black and white.

Your site has the same layout as a blog, which is a terrible thing.
