an odd coincidence

i was going through my DVD's trying to think of something to do right now and i came my copy of 24 and it got me thinking.

did denzel washington's portrayal of the first black president have anything to do with the sudden acceptance of a black candidate for president?

is the reason the US has been so reluctent to even put up a women or a black person for president the fact that the president in all the movies is portrayed as a white male?
