Adrenaline rush while under REM sleep?

    can you get an adrenaline rush while under REM sleep?

    I think I did that a couple nights ago, I had a dream where I was driving too fast and lost control...I would have thought an actual adrenaline rush would wake you up though...do you think it was an actual one or just the brain creating the sensation of one?

    I would think so. I've awoken from nightmares with a rapid heart beat, cold sweats, and heavy breathing...as if I just had a "fight or flight" response.
