An athiest society, not an secular one.

    Your thoughts.

What would be the pros and cons?

Not necessarily, they just believe in more fantastic things. Like aliens and UFOs

I'm interested in theology too. Anyway, there is no way of knowing what kind of society atheists would create. It could be great or terrible. There is nothing about atheism that dictates how to create a society.

I agree with spidergoat, but it would be boring because of a lack of any celebrations, etc

There could be secular holidays, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, MLK Day... Take Drugs and Have Sex Day

Is this going in "atheists hate religious symbols, look what is happening in one of those atheistic country in Netherlands who are wanting a referendum on banning Islamic mosque miniters (how ever you spell that)"?

Sweden is a beta atheist state. Ironically, I would like to live in Sweden I don't like faith heads much.

? Are you actually giving theisms the credit for those parties they work so hard to coopt ?

You going to give theism credit for wine, music, candles, and massage oil, next? How about the wheel ?

As the question was asked under the assumption that all spirituality, ritual, imagination, and community concordant faith, necessarily involves theism, there is little anyone can do to answer it in a questioner-comprehensible fashion.

But the attempts might be interesting. The obvious answer is yes, because so many humans have and do. But that, I fear, is too simple.

as always youre full of it!

I grew up in atheist society (Czech rep.) and we not only celebrated Easter, xmas, etc..
traditions of the days past I guess...but also many famous peoples birthdays, which was quite a lot.
also every day on the calendar had not only number but a someones first name too,so most people could have celebrated almost daily or weekly,

interesting thing was, that anyone, even a small kid could legaly buy alcohol anytime anywhere,
and suprisingly (with few exceptions) all these atheists were pretty responsible drinkers,..
which tells me we dont need fear of any gods to behave moraly .

I guess after you puke your guts out few times overindulging drinking it sinks in real quick that its not very healthy to overdo it.

another great thing about that country(yes it was comunist too) was,
IF you were single and knocked up a broad and didnt want to marry her, they
(the state) made damn sure you paid alimony until the kid was 18 years of age even if it meant throwing you into the slammer and making you work in frng coal mine or wherever.

Realistically speaking, this is the future. Religion is on its way out.

The pro: Superstition replaced by reason.

The con: No more Trappist monks to brew the beer

A world full of only atheists would be a society were only sex and money would matter. I prefer to die before seeing it.

An atheist world would suck but not as bad as a fanatical religious one.

It's possible to live in any society as long as the people within that society are civil to each other and respect each other.
