holy shit SAM, they warned me about you. lol jk. 1 question, are you right or left wing? or in between so no body whines...
I'm pro-choice so more than likely yes. If I was a right to lifer, then no. Its supposed to be about the innocent baby. Not the mom. I know Palin doesn't approve of abortions for rape victims and I applaud her for making it about the baby and not the mother's morals.
The baby doesnt even have morals! he doesnt even know he/she has a name, or what the hell abortion is.
Well i am split on this and believe that this choice is for women to make. I can understand the issue of rape, in a way, because if the child were carried to term and given up for adoption then who is to say? If you asked this child twenty years later if he\she should have been aborted what do you think they will say? As a man i dont think i can make these decisions and believe that women should have final decision.
It just pisses me off that right to lifers think its wrong for a woman to get an abortion. She should have used birth control and been responsible. Its not the innocent baby's fault. But if you are raped you can get an abortion. Then its ok. What about the innocent baby then? For them its not about the baby, its about the skankiness level of the mom. For Palin, its about the baby.
i am to pretend that a daughter of mine would not have an opinion as to what to do? ok...if that were the case i would tell her to take her time and think it over. my opinion on the matter would rest entirely on her feelings.
the baby is like an animal fetus with potential. but it doesnt have an intellect yet, it cant reason, it has no idea what the self is or what unalienable human rights are. Im definitely pro-choice on this, even when placing myself in the position as the baby. I rather not be born than live ignorant, unloved, or in poverty all my miserable life.
I'm pro-choice. An abortion would be what I would suggest. BUT if I was a right-to-lifer, I couldn't be a hypocrite. I would suggest carrying it to term.
It's easy enough in theory .... I would offer what advice I could, owing to my obligation as a parent to involve myself in such matters. However, the decision would be hers, and about the only thing I would (could) insist on is proper medical advice about what a pregnancy could do to her body, so that she might understand what is at stake. In the event of a pregnancy occurring due to biological precocity, I might exercise authority. Especially in the face of whatever statistical evidence I could find regarding the probabilities in a precocious pregnancy. But then, I can't say for sure, in any case, unless it happens.
It's her decision. Sure, she'd be underage, but I still wouldn't have the right to deny her an abortion or force her to have one if she did not want one.
I have 3 daughters. The oldest 2 are 7, the youngest is 4. I'd like to assume that the youngest possibility for this would be 11. As horrifying as this thought is, and as much as I would enjoy torturing the rapist to death, none of that answers your question. My 4 year-old has very definitive opinions about many things, my 7 year olds, even more. I have to believe that at age 11 or older, they would have a definite opinion about what they wanted to do. I'd offer advice, but I'd support their decision wholeheartedly, whether it would be to keep the baby and raise it, have it and put it up for adoption, or abort it. This is their violated body, it is up to them how to deal with it.
