I'm buying a new PC and spending a bit of money to get a decent one. Something like this.

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2.83Ghz/12MB),
    nForce 780i SLI Chipset,
    OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2GB) PC2-8500 DDR2,
    2 x XFX GeForce GTX260 896MB (in SLI),
    2 x 750GB SATAII HDD (RAID 0),
Thermaltake Black Soprano Case with Window,
OCZ 850W GameXStream SLI Ready PSU,
    + accessories

Should I go with Vista 64 bit?

I am told there are more issues with SLI on 64 bit. Anyone using it? Problems with any games or drivers?

From what I've learned you need Vista to get the advantages of the 64 bit processor to work for you. Just get as much RAM as you can.

Lots of people using Vista 64 with SLI, you should have no problem. Although personally, I would get 1 4870x2 instead of those GTX260s, a good Intel P45 mobo instead of that 780i, and an E8600 instead of the Quad, and overclock the E8600.

There's just issues with SLI. Really Nvidia has been having problems lately particularly with their nForce chipsets on motherboards. That and the high failure rate on all their cards since the 8800GT.

I'd love to recommend them, my last card was an 8800GT, but at the moment ATI 4800's on an Intel chipset is your best bet. You'll get the same or better performance out of 2 4870's or a single 4870X2 than you will with 2 GTX260's anyway.

Vista 64 bit is definately better supported than XP 64 bit though.

Unless you plan on using Multithreading apps, i wouldn't suggest getting a Core 2 Quad, your wasting your money
