darkie's HP DVD 1040r - Can't read DVD videos

I bought a HP DVD 1040r and it works, the only problem is it can't recognize the WAR DVD I just bought, it rejects the disc! I guess it's pathetic but I'm replacing the the darn thing with a new drive. Sadly this one cost 60 dollars when I got it, I've barely used the darn thing. But awhile ago I noticed it was acting weird and would sometmies not see a data DVD. How depressing
