I'm curious as to the number of anti-Muslim threads on this forum, both overt and covert and which denominations are more likely to start one. How many can you find? You probably can't. There's nothing negative to say about athiests other than the fact that they are loud and can be annoying. I mean, howe many "Athiest Militant" and "Athiest Terrorist" groups have you heard of? ~String
There are, however, certain atheist social problems...or rather, the lack of any atheist social aspects, which in turn leads to problems. Also, go online and look, I've seen ALOT of atheists that I'd say are militant.
Those ideologies were primarily militaristic communist or socialist and the fact that they were atheists was ancillary to a larger, more corrupt ideology. Their atheism, in other words, wasn't the motivation in their murders, but the need to convert people to an ideology or cult-like system of belief. ~String
Yeah, people who don't believe in God don't believe in nothing: they believe in anything. Every athiest has to adopt some ideology, since atheism is a lack of belief. Its why Dawkins hangs his hat on science and why so many atheists do so as well. The ones who don't, have UFOs, aliens, communism, etc.
Well, let's be honest, fools who are religious, are fools without religion. Religious or cult-like ideologies (i.e. Communism) tend to amplify foolishness. I'm all for NO religion and religious-like ideologies. The flip-side of this issue, is the long history of Christian, Buddhist, Jewish and Islamic militancy and violence, which is a lot longer than anything that atheists have done. ~String
Wow. One century out of -- what? -- eleven millenia of human religious history? Communism is definitively without religion per se, but its core ideology isn't "atheist" but "collectivist". The atheism part is ancillary and is the official state policy. Besides, you won't hear me defending Communism. It's a religion in and of itself. Any ideology can become that. Atheists eschew any cult-like ideology in lieu of individualism. ~String
One century that we know of. Not much is known about the Tibetan king who skinned alive the pagan Banpos for not converting to Buddhism, for example. No one knows why the Caravakas dropped out of favor 2000 years ago, etc.
Don't you mean anti-Islamic threads? I don't have anything against Musliims. Islam is another story, though.
