I say reality can not be proven to exist. We may assume it exists, via our sensory inputs. We cannot guarantee that all sensory inputs are the same and they cannot be proven to exist without use of those same sensory inputs. Without accurate sensory input, the existence of reality can only be assumed.

Existentialism, 'it exists because it cannot be disproved' - all these threads have one common theme: pointlessness.

Do everyone a favour and look up the world 'prove'. Then, go and read The Bible.

Reality exists as far as you can sense it.

Prove thought or accuracy of perception and I will submit.

Take a sample of 100 people, show them a flash card of a word or number. If most of them see the same thing, then it's real.

Yes, it's real based on what people can sense. However, our perception of reality goes only as far as we can sense it.

Perception is sensing. Anyway, we can indirectly sense much more than our direct senses, so we know more of reality than animals in some ways. Obviously, there are limits.

I don't understand. Don't you first have to prove that they exist to get the sample?

So if we, like them , cannot be shown to exist, where do you expect your answers to come. Look up absurd and don't read the Bible !

I have you down as a crude individual. Personally, I only ever defecate or spend time at stool.

A proof requires knowledge of all variables of the subject matter. That's why it's primarily used in mathematics and not otherwise.

We know it exists because we can observe that our sensory input is a construct of reality.

We can guarantee that all human senses function the same way regardless of whether or not they can process the same depth and breadth of difference.

Without functionally accurate sensory input, we wouldn't be able to survive.

sure it can,go jump in front of a speeding train and see if its real or not!
me thinks all normaly functioning peoples brains(sensors) can pretty much confirm all thats real.
people on drugs or mentaly fd up in the head are a whole nother story

    WTF?
    Skepticism: True knowledge is uncertain.

This whole entire thread is nothing more than Skepticism dribble. Of course when you assume skepticism, reality cannot be proven. Skeptics claim that nothing can be proven. Thus a discussion with a premisis of skepticism goes nowhere. This thread cannot get anywhere. It's circular reasoning.

I only tell it like it is. Are you taking notes to turn me into the morality police or what?

Yeah, this thread is retarted. Saying realitys existence cannot be proven is truly the best way of saying it. There's no better way to say it. Theres no examples, no nothing, that could prove that statement.

It's retarted. It's assuming that theres nothing.

If you follow me. To do anything. Evil genius, decieving fucker, however you boil it down to or whatever the [fuck] you boil it down to.
Realitys existence can be proven. This thread is stupid as shit. Seriously.

Does that include non-biological sensors, like test equipment, for example?
