If you were offered the chance to become God, would you?

One day while you are just taking a walk, God suddenly comes down and says he is retiring, and wants you to take up his position.

This means you'd have all the responsibilities of being God, but also all the abilities. Would you accept the offer? I would!

I don't think that if there is a God he is looking out for us or listening to us.
He knows everything we will ever do, so he can't really look out for us..
He is bound by his own omniscience.

I wouldn't want to be God, He may be all-powerful but he can't use it.

AFAIK, God's "responsibilities" consist of sitting around twiddling his/her/it's/their thumbs until such time as he/she/it/they decide it's judgement day.

I'd take that gig in a heartbeat. If it ever got boring, I'd turn Creation over to some other poor sap the same way it was handed to me...

Or just destroy everything and start over.

hello. this is existabrent. I am familar with all of your threads that share a similar theme. I have tried in everyone to commit to sharing some of the knowledge that I have of these issues.

This one to me, to share with you my thoughts with you on the general picture here...

Is one:
Just as similar as asking if there is an afterlife or whatever thread.
Two:
Having the same similar theme, it has to have a similar answer.
Three:
I have some knowledge of these things that you are asking although my knowledge and understanding/perspective of it from my perspective is a lot different than yours is probably I think I see what you might be asking. If I'm wrong tell me ok?

If I had the chance to be God I would decline. As I am taking a walk what is unreal cannot happen, even in infinity. All that exists is the world we live in. There is no alternate reality or mystical force. God does not exist. The only "god" that exists, is a "God" that we would become. And that is the god of being a human being. You cannot become "god" if god doesn't exist, you would only become a human being with the powers of god, I declare. So with this said would you choose to inherit the psychic nature of what a god is? My answer is no.

And I feel that this goes along with what you are saying actually.
Although everytime I post some or try to post some of my thoughts about it it is ignored, every time

Let's not forget that God is all powerful AND all knowing, so if things got boring, you MAKE them exciting using your all powerfulness. Of course I would take this job, and I would know what I should do to make the world a better place and then I'd do it.

 

And I thought I had it bad with one wife, he has all of the Nuns to deal with...not mention all of the complaints. I think it is best if he didn't retire and kept his job.

Since there isn't any God I couldn't become it. If you belive there is that's your decision but remember with any position of power you have certain rules to follow.

I could just create another god who can have all the responsibilities but have restraints on his power.
Then I could use my time doing whatever I pleased.
