    Hi Dragon,
    please to meet you.
Let me tell you that i'm not yet interested in actually designing an API in C, or C++, or Visual Basic etc...
In fact i want to know the underlying theory and what happens in central memory.
I know there are two types of API, the API of the operating system and the API of the applications.
How it is realized the parameter passing? How is returned the value of the called function? The called API work in the addressing space of the calling process or in another addressing space?
Which is the difference with DLLs?

As Hariseldon points out, please keep the subject related to the initial topic. Linux vs Windows debates will be removed.
