I'm really quite seriously thinking of heading up to Alaska for a week or so in the near future (next week?), just to chill out and relax for a while. Has anyone ever been to Fairbanks? Is it worth it?

Once I had some friends who were from the area. They said it was very beautiful. Their father had some gold nuggets that they had collected from a stream up there somewhere. It sounded very nice but alas to cold for a Flordia boy. If you do go I would certainly love to see some photo's of the area.
