Maybe this is an American thing, but all the Polish people I have met in the US are unsmiling and complain a lot. They are also always miserable. Why is this so? edit: apparently even polish forums are discussing this! http://www.polishforums.com/poles_always_miserable_they_never-38_2117_3.html
We have a lot of polish people where i Live and i don't think they are miserable, in fact they are happy just like everyone else
I live in Cleveland which has a sizable Polish community. They aren't any more miserable than anybody else. I suspect they are far less miserable than the half billion impoverished Indians, especially the ones that have to clean shit with their bare hands. ~String
Yes Polish people are just plain miserable. Everytime I see them they are miserable, just miserable...its in their nature.
One odd thing I noticed about the few Polish people I know, if you smile at them, they don't smile back. I have never seen it in any other people.
Yes, I agree. They are just plain evil, starting with the US installed rocket bases on their territory...and then the CIA underground jail cells...
I did not say they are evil. :bugeye: Just miserable. They have been very nice to me, but you would not know it if you took them at "face" value.
Personally i have not noticed this as anything significant but then afaik they were abused by communism and the Nazi's.
My Dad is polish and he is not miserable . He is actually pretty funny. He always talk to random ppl on the street.
Are you Polish? I suspect this because you are complaining and sound grouchy. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Poland is near Germany and German's don't smile or say please or thank you. It's a regional thing caused by the weather, poverty, genetics and general jip of the highest nature.
Hmm okay, apparently, it is a cultural association The last is not true. All the Poles I have met (immigrants in school) do not smile http://www.staypoland.com/poland-stereotypes.htm
Ok that is BS because my mom was german. She was dead set on teaching us manners and we HAD to use them. Please, thank-you, respect ppl and their property etc. When I went to Germany they were also polite.
They do live in your neighborhood. That would make anyone grouchy. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Umm she may have been dead set on teaching you manners but your reply does not reflect this. "Now shorty if anyone says anything to you jump down their throat and declare it bullshit like a good little half germ" Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Now there I have to disagree. I have a Russian (female) and Ukranian (male) friend and they always have me in stitches, esp the Ukranian guy.
Of course, as an adopted kid of a Polish father and a German mother in a North American country where natives are second class citizens, you would think like that. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! You realise you are just confirming the stereotype? hehe
