In sciforum's interests, it surely should be.

I don't know if non European sf'ers have noticed a drop off in Europeans posting, but at the moment we have a 4 yearly feast of football known as the European Championship.

Four hours of football a day doesn't allow much time for sciforums.

Of course, the most difficult part of transvestite elephant polo is painting those fucker's toenails.

Don't knock what you don't understand.

Enmos, I'm a soccer fan, I love it but of all the world's team sports, AFL is absolutely top shelf.
Incredible athletes, fantastic range of skills, not thuggish but definitely a hard man's game.

Most of the world's top soccer players would be left standing by the fitness and workrate of top line AFL players, I kid you not.

In that case the hardest part is getting the trunks out of the jockey's arses.

    That's an opinion, one I don't share.
I have seen the sport being played, it doesn't do it for me. That said, I'm not THAT big of a soccer fan either

You're probably right. But that doesn't say anything about the entertainment value of the sport.

In the end it's probably what you've been brought up with anyway

Since there aren't any other "sports" besides soccer it would seem that it's to bad that there aren't any more for people to watch or enjoy.

i cant belive people can watch a game where they go home and the score is zero all. Why bother playing at all? carbord cut outs could do that

It's not only about the score, it's about the game itself as well.

    It's not zero all, it's nil-nil.
A nil-nil drawn game may be a pointless waste of effort, or the best game you have seen in your life. It depends on the quality of the game.

Talking about nil-nil, I must point out that out of the 18 games that have been played in the tournament so far, 46 goals have been scored – and only one of those 18 games is a nil-nil draw (Romania v France).

Still think football is boring? Go and watch highlights of tonight’s match between Turkey and the Czech Republic. That will certainly change your mind.
