Great result for Holland. Was a great match with 2 brilliant goals. Italy could have scored a few, the scoreline is a bit harsh on them but it just demonstrates the standard these guys are playing at, mistakes and misses are costly. Holland are looking good.

The first goal was fine. Buffon jumped and landed on his own player, pushing him out behind the end line. Van Nistelrooy wasn't offside because the Italian defender was still back there.
If my memory serves me correctly a player off the pitch cannot be counted with regards to the offside rule.
That's correct. It should not have been a goal. I don't think they deserved to win the World Cup. But they are a good team. People have the stereotype of Italians being too defensive but they are excellent up front. They are a dangerous team. I just remembered the World Cup 02! They had alot of bad luck in that tournament. They were cheated! Just like Spain! I recall their coach pouring holy water on the team bench during their game against Mexico.
