    School carnivals, the likes.

Currently I'm sitting at home, rather than be at a "compulsory" athletics carnival, which I'm not participating in.
You might say, my disdain for sports has grown monumentally.

So, who else goes to carnivals of any sort ?.

It's pretty common in Ohio where I live. Each town has their own "homecoming" in the Summer. My hometown has the "Blueberry Festival" the first week of July, during which the carnies come to town. Rides. Games. Shows. Junk food of the junkiest and most savory quality. I end up running in to every person I grew up with, some of whom I really try to ignore. It's like a little dysfunctional reunion every July.

I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I usually do not like carnivals. The food makes me sick, the rides make me sick, and the shows suck ass.

We go to carnivals (addicted to the tilt-a-whirl and the witch's wheel), festivals (marshmallow one in Indiana), and the rodeo (frontier days in Nebraska).

    Why ?
History you can see in a museum, Fun you can have at a set theme park, Family time you can have at home.

What we have here, is a failure to communicate.

Weren't you talking about athletics day at school? And everyone else appears to be talking about carnivals/fairs where there are carnis and crooked games and dodgem cars etc.
Funnily you seem to have just accepted that people don't understand so you started pretending you think the carnivals with the rides and battered dogs are shit.
That's absurd, no one doesn't love those carnivals, they're literally designed purely for good times.

I'm not trying to be funny, I really think they are shit.
They are not primarily designed to provide a good time, they are designed to make money.

    You hate ejaculating ?

You said it yourself: the crooked games.
Even if there are not crooked, if you win something it hardly ever is worth the money you spend to win it.
It's like a casino for kids.. only with bad prizes.

No, not really, I just don't see the fun of them as I once did. They are for small children to enjoy as I once did, not for adults to go to just for themselves.

Oh, school carnivals. I volunteer at those. My husband and I usually do the ring toss and I make cake/cookies for the cake walk.

Both. I kinda recognized that they were two different things, but I honestly saw no point in carnivals either.

I get ill every year eating the horrible food, but I make the Hajj back to little Columbia Station every July to run in to every annoying person I've managed to avoid for the past 1.5 decades. The whole family goes, so it's kind of obligatory.

I am not sure what you mean exactly. They don't have school carnivals here. If you mean the mini carnivals they set up like fairs in the park, we go sometimes. There is one in the fall every yr that is kinda fun. The smash up Derby is the best part of it.
The rides are way too expensive and so is the food. The last time we went I won the money for the ride tickets. I played that spin the wheel game or whatever it's called.

I rather take the kids to Amusement parks like Ontario Place or Wonderland.
