How would I buy a patent?

    Say I worked on an idea for two years...developed everything about it but after two years realized someone else has patented it 4 years before I even conceived it. This idea is not used by companies, the application I would be using it is not mentioned at all...I would need to buy this patent to use this idea, correct? How would I buy a patent, exactly?

    Those are applications.. if they ok it you can buy it.

    Surely you can figure out that that will depend on what the holder of the patent wants for it? It might be very cheap and yet again he/she may want millions for it. No one can predict how the holder values it.

    Face it, if it's going to sell in any numbers, you'll be manufacturing in China. So a patent isn't required.
