This place used to be so busy. Always people posting about different things frequently throughout the day. Now it just goes through long dry patches for hours on end. What's happened to this place?.

Housewives took over. Inane babble drowned out interesting discussion. Backlash against babble. Uncomfortable silence.
    Housewives nervous chatter begins anew.

Corrupt mods. Deleting threads, moving threads. Banning people. Placing no value on individuals.

This is why the worlds greatest nation is democratic.

Monarchy and dictatorship doesn't work. You'd think the administrator of an educational forum like this would know this!!

REVOLUTION!!!... Oh, wait we can't. We'll get banned if we speak against there godlyness.

Invert Nexus nailed it. WAY too much pure garbage and fluff - and far too little substance. I don't even bother reading 90% of the silly topics that get started. They are just a big waste of time.

Screw that, every nation has it's qualities, but America (or emirika as you Americans call it) simply isn't even a contender for the greatest nation in the world.

    Go socialism!

Just where did you get THAT stupid idea?!? I've lived here for over 60 years and have NEVER hear anyone call it "Emirika." The "A" is clearly pronounced here.

You'd better check the rest of your "facts" too. The U.S. still has the strongest military in the world - among other things. And other than the dollar, the country really isn't in decline - it's just that the rest of the world is finally catching up.

Nope, just stating facts. Until recently, most nations of the world didn't come close to matching the U.S. in most respects. In the past 5-8 years though, several have improved considerably. Primarily, it's been a result of globalization and investment in infrastructure.

Do you have some sort of problem with that? Makes good sense to me.

Just refuting this ignorant statement by USS Enterprise-B: "...but America (or emirika as you Americans call it) simply isn't even a contender for the greatest nation in the world."

Evidently, he lives on a different planet (inside his mind.):bugeye:

Well, what is 'greatness' ? It's a bit subjective.
You take it to be power, especially military power.
Military power doesn't equate to greatness to me though.
I think you are both just arguing in your own favor

Of course it's subjective. Military strength is one reasonable measure. Another is the level of technology. Yet another is the number and variations of natural wonders present in the country. And then there's the relative ability to produce food AND it's level of availability.

But just as you say, mostly it's subjective and depends on what's important to the individual.

My standpoint on how the USA has poor education quality compared to other nations (at least it is these days).

The misspelled "America" is a joke.

Strongest military, yes. But face this, back in ancient Greece, Sparta had the greatest military power in the region. Yet, were they the greatest city-state of ancient Greece? Most certainly not.

Joaquin the direct proportionality of this forums' silence comes from the exponential increase in bans
