Say I'm having a bad day,

Say I get pissed off at someone for a legitimate reason, and break two dinner plates in anger. Although my action was disproportionate to the initial incident, should I still blame the breakage on him?

This isn't me though, It's my mother, She's having "one of those days".
That said, she still had to clean up her own mess.

what on earth got your mum so mad?

and yeah smashing plates was her fault, mothers should have control of they're anger! And no you shouldn't blame the breakages on the other person.

take out the rubbish properly next time if you want to avoid plate smashing!

actually this reminds me of what my son said to me last week, i was bitching at him, and he said to me, "mum why are you allways bitching?" i just said, "if you did things properly in the first place, i wouldn't be able to find things to bitch about"

What exactly is the issue here?
Whether you are responsible for her breaking those plates?

Anger can be controlled by yourself. Although it is true that others around you can do things that make you angry, the actual emotional outburst comes from your failure to controller yourself. Once you realize that they are the problems you can then justify NOT getting angry because you won't let them make you get upset because of what someone else has done. When another driver cuts in front of me I don't ever get angry, I justify their foolish behavior by saying THEY didn't see me or THEY just weren't being careful as to how THEY drove. My reflex's prevented an accident and I commend myself for doing so. That way I see it as I'm taking charge of myself and not allowing them to upset me whatsoever.

Sometimes you just go so berserk that you're nothing but adrenaline, and you can lose it.

Ask that dent in our old car door where I used to sit.

But yes, you can learn to control it.

I have overcome the emotion of wanting to kill someone, so if I can do that you can contol yourself for the little stuff that happens everyday.

Pretty much, Despite being the trigger, the reaction was not appropiate.

    Challenger,
the challenge here is to accept that the Greek majority( read Melbourne) have ensured that the breaking of plates signifies higher emotions, i.e someone is getting married, someone just died and left the fish and chip shop to the favoured nephew, shit like that!

Fuck man, your luck is in, get threaded up and go and score yourself a mamma.

Your mother sounds like a bitch. Tell her she better shape up or you'll start using heroin.

Or better still, tell her to start using heroin. It really sharpens up your priorities.
