How much do you like popcorn? What do you like on it, if anything? When do you most like to eat popcorn?
I really like popcorn! In fact, I'm eating it right now! :xctd: I use a dedicated popping kettle and have enjoyed this type of popcorn for many many years. Microwave popcorn pales in comparison to kettle popped! I have noticed that kettle popped corn retains a good flavor and freshness that lasts for a day or more. Microwave popcorn seems to taste pretty subpar within an hour of being popped, I have found. Then there's always a hot air popper. Haven't seen one of those in ages, but used to be the only way we made popcorn when I was a kid. I usually use a mixture of coconut oil and vegetable oil, like sunflower seed oil, though this time I used grape seed oil (didn't have sunflower oil at the store). Tastes good. I like popcorn at anytime, whether playing a game, watching tv or movies (which doesn't happen very often) or whenever. I usually eat it once or twice a week. How do YOU feel about popcorn?
I feel indifferent when it comes to popcorn. It's not that I hate it, you know, it's just like whatevs. I like how buttered popcorn smells, and I can recall enjoying it in the past to a degree, but I think my pallette has matured and I find the whole idea of popcorn very boring. Lucifer's Angel, tell us more about how you put sugar or caramel on your popcorn, do you ever put both sugar and caramel? I want to know more about your popcorn habits. Giambattista I feel like I definately know more about your feelings towards popcorn than I did before I opened this thread, but if there's any more information you can provide I'd greatly appreciate it.
Also I think the poll should allow multiple selections, I honestly can't choose between these two; * Popcorn is okay, but there are better snacks out there. * I don't like popcorn very much. I rarely eat it. Seriously, I just can not choose, they are both perfect.
what i do is, warm a LITTLE cooking oil in a pan, then add some sugar, then add the pop corn kurnels, then just put the lid on the pan and shake the pan and cook them. the caramel popcorn is made by melting some chunks of toffees in a LITTLE cooking oil and then adding the corn, and cooking like normal, or you can do what my friend does, she just buys the microwave pop corn in a bag and its ready in minutes, but i prefer it cooked by me on a stove!
Simply the best! I have only a few unpopped kernnels everytime I pop Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn. It is also the best tasting I've eaten . I use sunflower oil to pop them with. Sometimes I'll use olive oil but the sunflower oil tastes and smells so much better! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Hmm. When in the mood for savory popcorn, I wait just until that first kernel pops. Quickly throw in a bit of fine chili powder, shake it all about and let the corn dance commence. Once all popped, add some salt and a generous amount of Brie cut into small pieces. Sweet popcorn...melt some butter, add some honey and throw it over the popcorn, once its popped, small splashes at a time (a good shake between each splash).
Lou Natic: Senior Popcorn Researcher. Anyway, I mentioned the other day olfactory cons: things that smell wonderful but taste of... nothing. Meat is one such thing (as in the pre-packaged, shop-bought stuff - I'm told that freshly-dead venison tastes nice). Popcorn is another. I've never used this word before, because it's silly but... meh..
Doesn't microwave popcorn increase your chances of getting cancer? Popcorn at the movies would be good if it wasn't for those God-awful, ripoff prices.
so, when a poll ends up in Cesspool, it dies?? My kids eat microwave popcorn about 4x a week. Every once in a while I'll get out the popper and make it myself. I only use white kernels. They pop smaller and crunchier. The old maids are my favorite and I wish stores would sell them right next to Corn Nuts.
I used to like it, but now don't. Wait. theres other popcorn beside microwaved ? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
