Pause. You're an entomologist? Or just think insects are cool? (consider this a respite-- I really am curious)
I am just a curious girl who happens to live by the forest I'm sure you haven't missed the dozens of pictures I've posted before
Ever held a Mourning Cloak (Nymphalis antiopia)? Depending on what reagion you're from, of course. Amazing things---they make the hands itch when you hold them and play dead. Not the trusting, pretty innocents that almost every other lepidoptera is like-- its almost as if its aware of its captor.
Actually have. Will make a point to come back and search for them-- can't sit on my rump here all day.
We don't have that one around here. I'm going to the US soon and I'll be able to take pictures of all these little things I've never seen before, I'm looking foward to that. I like atypical behaviour in insects and arachnids, I'll keep an eye for N. antiopa. That's one of the reasons the genus Phoneutria is the one I find the most interesting. Playing with them is quite a rush. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfm9OFX_Q2M

Varda, you're crazy. I seem to have grown out of my comfort with spiders, but I still find them fascinating. You also take fantastic photos. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Yes. Bad Gendanken! Bad! Spiders aren't insects. They're arachnids. Oh, and while I'm here, here's the post I was telling you about: http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?p=1823874#post1823874
