Just wondering why is it that the HD satellite providers don't have 1080P available but only have 1080I? My TV is 1080P and my reciever gives me only 1080I , I know they are compatable but I'm not getting what my TV can do. Does the 1080I signal convert into 1080P when my TV gets that signal from the reciever or does it just continue to show 1080I as is being recieved? Just wondering why they even make the 1080P TV sets then? Thanks for any replies.

P stands for progressive whereby every line in the picture is being scanned onto the screen, the I means every other line is being scanned. It is like I'm getting only half of the picture.
