Grizzly bear’s fate uncertain after deadly bite

The grizzly bear that wrestled Will Ferrell's character in the recent film "Semi-Pro" seemed to obediently follow cues — which made its killing of its trainer with a bite to the neck all the more stunning.

Pepper spray was used to subdue and contain the bear, and there were no other injuries

There was no word whether the bear would be euthanized because of the attack.

Do you think the bear should be euthanized? They obviously can't release a trained bear into the wild, so what do you think they should do with this bear now?

How do you feel about wild animals like this that are trained to act in Hollywood?

Why do they show a helicopter shot of the bear in it's cage? I don't think it's fair to kill it for behaving naturally.

I think the bear should be retired and kept safely behind enclosures, perhaps a zoo. But I would hate to see him killed. I am sure the trainner would feel similarly. We play with wild animals at our own risk, not theirs.

It wasn't killed, at least not yet. They are training it to do the same to Will Ferrell, if he ever tries to make a sequel...

I feel the trainer got what he had coming. The bear can't be blamed and should be looked after as much as possible.

I guess, it's probably the best realistic option for the bear.

"It’s a playful behavior brought out on cue,” he said"
    What the?
Its a bear, not a pianist.

You can never, ever, train predatory animals. Training is for poodles and lorikeets.

It's always exhilarating to hear about a natural predator turning on its dumb shit captors.
