We've all heard it, that in December of twenty twelve, the world as we know it will end. I'm just wondering, does anyone here believe that? And discuss!
Hmm, you guys seem to think it's a joke; the only reason I give any credit to this prophecy is because the Mayan calendar predicted it, and it was accurate on many other points, as well as Nostradamus

LoL what world are you living in? True, that's happened before, but almost always it was pulled out of someone's ass; now, the Mayans AND Nostradamus predicted it, and alot of their predictions have come true. Isn't the mayan calendar more accurate than ours?

Just search! Anyway I know Nostradamus predicted 9/11, the birth of some king, etc and the mayans predicted many eclipses and other natural occurences , and they actually happened.
From what i have read on the Dec 21, 2012 doomsday prophecy, is that there will be a major world change, not that all of mankind will be wiped out. A major part of the arctic ice shelf will break off, and cause water levels to rise approx. 6m (is one theory) the hell there after would highly devestating. causing flooding, and an axis tilt, which would change the worlds climate. these things would be a major world change to say the least.
land mass would obviously be covered, but it has been before, the mississippi would likely divide the states, eastern provinces of Canada would be mostly covered. I imagine that whatever land is currently below sea level would be gone.
Not quite directly linked to the OP, but another strange occurrence that -allegedly- occurred recently (prime time would never cover this even if true) was a secret UN exopolitical meeting about EBE revelation. Apparently, ETs are getting tired of Earth governments' procrastinating on the issue of openness, hence the upsurge in open mass sightings (Texas; Chicago, O'Hare; Stratford-Upon-Avon, England).
