I am curious about religious writings other than those used as source documents for the books of the Protestant Old & New Testaments. I think there are some books in the Catholic Bible not included in the Protestant one.

In addition, it is my understanding that there were all sorts of theological beliefs and stories other than those portrayed in the Protestant Bible. Are documents describing these beliefs & stories still available? I suppose that many were either lost or deliberately destroyed after adoption of the Nicene Creed in about 300 AD.

What about beliefs & stories not included in the Old Testament? I remember stories about Lilith, Adam’s first wife. I assume that there are no documents older than 2000 or so years relating to alternative Jewish beliefs & stories.
