View Full Version : The Bible is founded on ASTROLOGY!

For those who believe the Bible does not contain references to astrology, I have a couple reference verses for you:
Job 38:31-32 (King James Version)
31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
Pleiades = a group of stars
Orion = a well known constellation
Mazzaroth = the Hebrew word for ZODIAC
Arcturus = a known star
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades?
How is this Christian content? Doesn't it sound like pagan astrology crap? Sweet influences of the Pleiades? Kinda sounds like the "Pleiades" have been anthropomorphized huh! Think about it!
loose the bands of Orion?
Loose the Bands? Do Christians view Orion as an anthropomorphized deity too? hmm...
Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?
Bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? Hey Mazzaroth is the Zodiac! Whoa isn't astrology supposed to be evil? What's it doing in the Bible then? hmm...
or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
his sons? Who is this Arcturus? Should be just another star in the sky yet we have clearly shown that we believe he is a male with sons!
THAT'S RIGHT!! IT'S ASTROLOGY PEOPLE!! GOOD OLD EVIL ASTROLOGY!!
Now ask yourselves this question...
Why are Christians, Jews, and Muslims taught that astrology is evil? Could it be because if they understood astrology they might understand something else? Like their scriptures!

because astrology doesnt make you get down on your knees and become a servant. The bible is far more USEFUL as a mind control device than an enlightenment device.

Mazzaroth is a direct reference to the zodiac. That is astrology, NOT astronomy. Read the doc from the link at the end of my post and see if you still can't find astrology in the Bible. The whole thing is astrological allegory. Medicine*Woman has been trying to tell you people this for years now and you've rejected her message. Nevertheless, she is absolutely correct.
It is not the job of science to destroy religion, it is the job of astrology to do that. The purpose of science is to fill the remaining vacuum of knowledge with truth.

Amun (also spelled Amon, Amoun, Amen, and rarely Imen, Greek Ἄμμων Ammon, and Ἅμμων Hammon, Egyptian Yamanu[citation needed]) was the name of a deity, in Egyptian mythology, who gradually rose to become one of the most important deities in Ancient Egypt, before fading into obscurity.
Amun's name is first recorded in Egyptian records as ỉmn, meaning "The hidden (one)". Since vowels were not written in Egyptian hieroglyphs, Egyptologists have reconstructed the name to have been pronounced *Yamānu (/jamaːnu/) originally. The name survived in Coptic as Ⲁⲙⲟⲩⲛ, Amoun.
Gradually, as god of air, he came to be associated with the breath of life, which created the ba, particularly in Thebes. By the First Intermediate Period this had led to him being thought of, in these areas, as the creator god, titled father of the gods, preceding the Ogdoad, although also part of it. As he became more significant, he was assigned a wife (Amunet being his own female aspect, more than a distinct wife), and since he was the creator, his wife was considered the divine mother from which the cosmos emerged, who in the areas where Amun was worshipped was, by this time, Mut.

In that sense, the culture described in the Bible is based on all the previous cultures in the region, among them astrology, idol worship, nature worship, and others. Hebrew culture was adapted from previous ones, but they changed it's basic meaning. The Bible doesn't tell you to worship the stars, but people that worshipped the stars were it's intended audience.
Christianity is not Paganism, but it did adapt elements of Paganism for it's own use (christmas trees, solstice and harvest festivals, a pantheon of spirits (saints)).

Christianity has come to mean believing in a set of assumptions about Jesus and the OT. He died for our sins, rose on the third day, Jesus is devine in nature, etc...

Actually sly1 it may go back even further than that. Some research suggests the pyramids are exceedingly old. Even Manly P. Hall admits that his fellow Masons were the ones who created the phony inscriptions in the Great Pyramid dating it to the time of Kufu. What did they want to hide?

I take issue with your assumptions about the "base" of the Bible. I don't deny that aspects of previous religions are either mentioned or incorporated into biblical myths, but that is different from the theology actually being based on them.
This is due in no small part to their being no one author of the Bible. There were dozens of authors with different takes on what they thought would be important or "stick" with the readers.

BINGO!! And each author was nothing more than an initiate of the Egyptian Mystery Schools. This is why the different authors agree on most aspects of their theology. They were not originators of the information, only regurgitators of it.
Actually sly1 it may go back even further than that. Some research suggests the pyramids are exceedingly old. Even Manly P. Hall admits that his fellow Masons were the ones who created the phony inscriptions in the Great Pyramid dating it to the time of Kufu. What did they want to hide?

Well I know egypt has been dated to roughly 10,500 years ago alternativly to the 5 thousand due to the alignment of the constilation orion with the pyramids and leo with the sphynx. So quite possibly it could be older than sumeria.....however egyptians were much more advanced in communication and building than the sumerians which I can only conclude that sumeria would predate egypt.

I've never ever stated anywhere that I believe in astrology or in any astrological attributes. However, interpreting the bible (both OT and NT) is the ONLY accurate interpretation of MYTH. It's all myth and it's always been myth. I certainly don't promote it as a religion. I'm an atheist, and maybe a "nut" as you say, but you can't just call me a "nut" because I don't believe in any of that crap anyway. Maybe I KNOW about it, but I don't promote it as something to be believed in... like the ancients did. Christianity has come to mean believing in a set of assumptions about Jesus and the OT. He died for our sins, rose on the third day, Jesus is devine in nature, etc...
So, no, if you believe as the Jews and as I do, that Jesus was a man with interesting philosophical ideas, then you aren't a Christian.
-That does mean that I will burn in hell for eternity no matter how good human I try to be while being here in earth ?
-Any Christians, I would like to hear your take on this one ?
"He died for our sins, rose on the third day, Jesus is devine in nature, etc..."
-So like Horus in Egypt, (and the sun in winter solstice) now I´m really confused :D Was He the same God ? Reincarnation ?
-So if I do everything Jesus said, but I dont believe him to be a God, I´m doomed in hell ? Thats pretty sick. So its all about submit myself to authority of Pope, given by God, since he is close pal with God/Jesus.
-Christianity is pretty damn hard to understand I may say ;)

Correct, according to orthodox Christianity, good works are not enough. Other Gods with similar demands don't count towards the Christian heaven either.

well like i said earlier.......the bible....religion....is much more useful in its current false state, getting you to kneel/obey/fear/conform.......than an astrological aspect.
The bible is being abused for control over the sheeple. Its hilarious to me actually only becuase they literally tell you, that your nothing but a sheep to be hearded......and yet people salivate, praise, and cheer this idea......if there ever is a definition of brain washed, that is it.

However I am very hesitant to claiming ownership of any "TRUTH" I will agree that the astrological aspect of the bible does indeed make more sense out of things. There is now a connection between what is being said and what you can see/experience/test where as before it was ALL on faith......
Why though so much "beating around the bush" ?? Why muddle up astrology with irrelevant mislabeling and mysticism?
It's been used to create a system of control, and one of the most lucrative businesses in the world.
If you are looking for motive that should more than suffice!

Actually sly1 it may go back even further than that. Some research suggests the pyramids are exceedingly old. Even Manly P. Hall admits that his fellow Masons were the ones who created the phony inscriptions in the Great Pyramid dating it to the time of Kufu. What did they want to hide?
In fact if you follow the line of research that suggests the Giza complex is actually representative of the Belt of Orion, and then go back in time to when those stars were in that configuration... Well now you're getting into some seriously crazy shit!
-I have been reading on that too, also the ancient race of giants, could that
have some connections, since how those pyramids was made is still a mystery ?

The concept of people as "sheep" was derived from Aries the Ram, as the concept of people as "cattle" was derived from Taurus the Bull.
Of course now that it's the Age of Pisces, they can just "school the minnows" as it were. :)

-Yes. Most disturbing thing is that when you enter church first thing you see
is your tortured God to be crucified to death ~ installing guilt, we killed our God...but it was because of our sins ! They wanna make you feel guilty ?
Doesnt they say that we are all sinners from begin, was it original sin or what was that they called it ?

There's some pretty wild theories about the giants out. I would guess that it's still more astrological allegory, but on that I don't know for sure.
The Great Pyramid is not just perplexing because of the size of the stones, but also the cutting precision. I haven't been there but it is said that the stones are cut so precisely that you can't fit a sheet of paper between them. If you think about that and imagine the supposed tools of the day, well, you'll realize it just doesn't add up at all! But as I said, I haven't been there. Maybe it's all just cram packed full of sand.

Here's a question for you that has me perplexed:
Saturn or Chronos was depicted as a god with a sickle at least back as far as the Greeks (probably circa ~ 500BC), it may go back much further. This sickle is well known as a metaphor for the rings of Saturn...
Keeping that in mind, can one of you please explain to me how the ancients knew that Saturn had rings? I've never seen them without aid of a telescope have any of you? The first telescopes were supposedly invented in the early 17th century. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Lippershey)

In the Jesus story after Jesus [the Sun], visits John the Baptist [Aquarius] the Bible says, “After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee,....” (Mark 1:14; Matthew 4:12; Luke 3:20; John 3:24). Suddenly John the Baptist is "put in prison", and Jesus just goes on his merry way! There is no further explanation in the Bible, which seems quite strange if John were a real person. We want to know why he was "put in prison." What crime was he accused of? Who threw him in prison? Was there a trial? Did Jesus attend the trial and speak on his behalf? No. Nothing more is said. Jesus just continues on his journey and appears unconcerned about John the Baptist.
This is all very strange and hard to understand if interpreted as a story of real life events, but it all makes perfect sense when understood as an astronomical allegory. John the Baptist being put in prison is merely an allegory for the constellation Aquarius at sunset moving lower and lower until it is below the horizon at the end of the month and can no longer be seen. It is a natural phenomenon that requires no further explanation, and that is why there is no further explanation in the Bible.
Jesus, the Sun, continues on his way into "Galilee". The word "Galilee" literally means "circuit". The original Greek word is γαλιλαις {gal-il-ah'-yah} (Strong's Greek #1056. Click here to see the verse in Greek), which is a word of Hebrew origin לילג {gaw-lee-law'} (Strong's Hebrew #01551). A "circuit" is a closed, usually circular path. The ecliptic is the circuit the Sun travels along during the year. The ecliptic is a great circle inscribed on the celestial sphere. The ecliptic is also a circle on a planisphere. Jesus, a personification of the Sun, continues on his way along the ecliptic, or "Galilee".

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall
The moon (Humpty) is in conjuction with Orion's Belt, making it look like Humpty is sitting on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a big fall
The moon falls below the horizon.
All the king's horses and all the king's men,
couldn't put Humpty together again.
All the nights that follow, the moon does not appear above Orion's Belt again.
I'm not particularly good at this..; the point is: you can make astrological allegory out of anything. That doesn't prove that it was created as astrological allegory.

based on Astrology? How does 2 verses in Job make the Bible founded on astrology?
WOW! This guy, from his posts, does not seem to be a Christian. But, he obviously is able to realize that two little verses do not determine the whole mean of the book. It would be nice to have people more like him.
If you read verses before it:
From whose womb comes the ice?
And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?
30 The waters harden like stone,
And the surface of the deep is frozen.
31 “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,
Or loose the belt of Orion?
32 Can you bring out Mazzaroth[a] in its season?
Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?
33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?
Can you set their dominion over the earth?
34 “Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,
That an abundance of water may cover you?
This is actually God saying that He is the creator of the earth, and He has the power to change it. And that God, can protect you.
Why are Christians, Jews, and Muslims taught that astrology is evil? Could it be because if they understood astrology they might understand something else? Like their scriptures!

This god you refer to is the Sun. Why else would it be so easily associated with the stars? Stars in the Bible are kings and lords. So naturally the Sun would be described as the "King of kings" and "Lord of lords" as that is what you call the most prominent star in the sky.

Job 1:8-12 (King James Version)
8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
God is bragging about his favorite servant Job, isn't pride a sin? :scratchin:
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
Satan baits God to tempt him and see if he can get permission to mess with Job. Whatever happened to "Tempt not the lord thy God"? Oh that's right it's Satan we're talking about here! :mufc:
12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
God fails this test of temptation and says, "alright it's a bet! But don't kill him, if you kill him he can't live to still prove you wrong by not turning on me!" And thus the tragedy begins. Yet God who is omniscient already knew Job would not turn against God so why bother persecuting Job? To prove to Satan what God already knows, that's why. Confirmation of God's pride! :D
