Do any of you remember the Chemistry set that we all wanted for Christmas or our birthday? Do you ever have the feeling that purchasing individual parts for your own home experiments may lead to you being visited by the government. Or even worse, someday a crime.

The chemicals that come in those things are pretty harmless. Besides, if you REALLY want something dangerous, all you have to do is visit any lawn and garden shop and buy a bag of ammonium nitrate.

No need to buy anything. Take the Americium out of your smoke detectors...

I'd worry more about the children playing with the chemistry sets more than

any government worker coming to visit.

Who needs exotic chemicals when you can buy toilet cleaner and tin foil... Highly effective explosive mixture...

those things are not as fun as the chemistry set. that teaches you about the science. what you all are talking about is nothing more than illegal activity.

I did that once... Except I used charcoal, salt water, and food coloring...

It's a sad state we are in. Yes, I used to have a chemistry lab at home as a child and teenager. I conducted a lot of experiments. In today's world, I would most certainly have been visited by the authorities for some of the things that I had and made, such as hydrogen. I loved learning. I never gave it a thought on using the chemicals in a harmful way. It's a very sad state this world is in today.

My parents bought me a second hand one once at a boot sale. All the interesting chemicals had already been used and we had no paraffin for the burner.
