I just started donating to the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) today and I thought I would share it with the forum to see if anyone else would like to donate as well.

They have a few different options as far as donation amounts... but I chose the $25 a month amount.

I'd like to see as many people as I can to join and donate as well. It goes to a great cause.

(And I'd like to see some more compassion, which is becoming more and more rare on this site now-a-days)

    Just go to...http://www.MyASPCA.org

You can also do a one time donation if you don't feel comfortable doing a monthly commitment.

Anyways, lets see how many people we can get on here to donate.

I already rescued 2 dogs so far from the Humane Society.
So I think I already did my part.

It is a good idea... and no, I don't work for the ASPCA or anything so I am not after your money. lol

I just love animals. I've had dogs and cats my whole life... at one point we had 13 dogs, 8 cats, 3 horses, 20 cows, and 10 bulls, ALL as pets. We didn't sell the cows or kill them or anything, we just keep them and protect them.

I'd rather give to the spaying and neutering campaign. That way I prevent

    more animals needing help.

    Low-cost spaying & neutering

Would you like to spay or neuter your pet but can’t afford to?
The following organizations provide financial assistance for spaying and neutering to qualifying low-income residents. Please contact the organizations for more information.

    Everett Animal Shelter
    425-257-6000
Provides $20 certificates redeemable at participating veterinarians for reduced spay and neuter costs.

    The NOAH Center
    360-629-7055
Charges $25 to spay or neuter dogs and cats.
Free spays and neuters for feral (wild) cats.

    Pasado’s Safe Haven “Spay Station”
    360-793-7729
Mobile pet sterilization clinic provides low cost spays and neuters.
Free spays and neuters for qualifying low-income people.
Call for dates, fees and locations.

    Purrfect Pals
    360-652-9611
    Cats only
    Cat spay: $30
    Cat neuter: $20

Please spay and neuter your pets to reduce the number of homeless animals in our community

We got our cats from them. When we get a dog, we plan on getting it from them as well. My sister-in-law is very active with them she volunteers.

I don't give money to them, I give to the homeless shelters. I care more about people than animals. I just do.

The ASPCA had a black Friday sale after Thanksgiving. It usually costs $50 to rescue and animal, they knocked it down to $25. It was a good idea. A lot of animals got rescued.

Well, I encourage anyone and everyone to do what they can to help animals. I am a "card-carrying" member of the ASPCA, SPCA, and PETA.

    And vegetarian.

this is a much better option.

about the only thing i think of when someone mentions ASPCA is dog fights.

Why is that? The ASPCA does ALOT of good things for our animal community.

yeah, you have to be a vegetarian to belong to PETA, not the ASPCA.

And PETA uses a more hands on approach to fighting animal cruelty such as raiding meat factories, fur coat stores and what not. Where as the ASPCA rescues, takes care of, and puts animals up for adoption no matter how long it takes.
