In all seriousness though, I think the Scandinavian countries have it going on. My most favorite country would be either Sweden or Norway.

enmos, When I was in Amsterdam last month I was told that many Dutch people own two bicycles, an everyday one and a special occasion one. The every day one is a very basic bicycle that they don't even bother to lock up. They simply leave it leaning against a wall (something I saw a lot of) and if it is stolen they simply take another bike and ride it. Is this actually true or is it one of those things tour guides tell travelers?
It's the other way around, really. Canuckistan gave us... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Roll Up The Rim, Baby !!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Timbits... For most people it isn't true, people don't want their bikes stolen so they lock up. I have heard from students though, that a lot of them do exactly what you described. Also, in some areas bikes get stolen so often that people get really sick of it and steal one back. I have heard this first hand from some people lol Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
