Man killed in wood-chipper accident The Anaheim resident was working with a tree-trimming crew in Tustin. He was throwing branches into the machine one moment, authorities say, and then suddenly 'he was gone.' By Tony Barboza, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer 10:15 AM PST, November 8, 2007 Authorities in Orange County are working to recover the remains of a 24-year-old Anaheim man who was killed Wednesday in a wood chipper accident in Tustin. The tree service worker "was standing at the back end of the chipper, throwing branches into it with his co-workers nearby," said Sgt. Pat Welch of the Tustin Police Department. "One of them looked over, and he was gone." Authorities took the wood chipper and the truck attached to it to a parking structure at the coroner's office, where they plan to dismantle it. The accident, which happened about 4 p.m. in the 2600 block of Palmetto Avenue in Tustin, is being investigated by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, authorities said. The man's name was being withheld until his family was notified. "We'll just be trying to gather as much of the remains as we can," said Supervising Deputy Coroner Larry Esslinger. Thirty-one people have been killed in wood chipper accidents between 1992 and 2002, according to a 2005 Journal of the American Medical Assn. report. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/l...,1,4287685.story?coll=la-headlines-california
wood chippers are evil, it just inhaled the guy. Bad and faulty design. whoever invented it should be crucified. Let's lynch 'em.

Am I the only person here that finds this kinda funny? I mean, I feel bad for the guy. But you gotta admit, thats pretty hilarious. One second he was there and the next he wasn't. I wonder how long it took for them to figure out what had happened. Bet they walked around for a while trying to look for him before they checked the chipper. lol
LOL, no you ass, it doesn't! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! So now, I'm going with a stroke and he was dead when he fell in.
Don't worry, it was quick. Think about it. He probably went in head first. Within 1 second, his brain was crushed and he was dead. It was so fast he probably didn't even feel it.....
yeah, the death/pain was quick, but there was that moment when he knew he was being sucked into a wood chipper.
A wood chipper is better than a meat grinder. The blades are sharper. Daniel Cruz Romero fell into a meat-grinding machine that he was cleaning and was killed. The incident still is under investigation by the Travis County District Attorney's Office.
human beings or men? I know a guy that 'bout lost his hand in a snow blower. Got a stick in it, reached in to clear it our and zip... Women just seem to be more careful.
