I know there has to be some gum with xylitol, or better yet erythritol. I am certain i have seen some but it was awhile ago before i was interested in finding some. What other foods contain these sweeteners...anyone know? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythritol Thanks.
interestingly they mostly sell xylitol chewing gum in Finland. It's hard to find any other one. Still remember to have trouble finding xylitol chewing gum in the US. Also popular are xylitol tablets for kids, on which they can suck after a meal.
That last is actually frightening. I don't have any trouble finding xylitol chewing gum here in the U.S.
yeah, but you have to look. did you know xylitol is a mind control substance. I read an unpublished report once. Of course this research was buried deep beneath the academic bureacracy.
Can you tell us which ones? I didnt know that, it is supposed to be an ideal substitute for sugar with erythritol being the best.
Icebreakers gum has xylitol. And it rocks. Mint flavor that makes your head explode. Problem with xylitol being that it's recently been linked with cancer, yes? Although I do wonder if they shoveled the equivalent of gallons per day of xylitol into rats like they did with saccharine.
The other "problem" (depending on what you hope to accomplish by using it) is that it's not a low calorie sweetner--it is lower than sugar but has more calorie's than maltitol (which is probably the most common sugar alcohol in US foods) and certainly a lot more than Splends or Aspartame. It's also poisonous for dogs for some reason.
No i dont need it to lose weight, just taste good and not have bad side effects. I can just as easily use sugar but Xylitol seems to be hyped by 'independant' sources as being one of the top two synthetics sweeteners.
