I remember my elementary school had a nurse with a green low plastic covered bench/couch. She wore a uniform with a sweater, etc. It looked just like a Dr office. Why don't they have those anymore? Now they have security guards and metal detectors? Was it a trade? They could only afford one?
metal detectors at a school? thats absurd. none of the schools i went to had a nurse, we just went to the staff room and had the office ladies patch us up.
Yes, my son showers with your soap dropping child. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! lol Only the private schools in Detroit are without security anymore. The schools here in town are w/o security, but they also don't have a nurse. They did just build a multi-million dollar football stadium though. priorities I guess.
Perfect set up for a pedophile or child molestors, huh? And can you imagine the lawsuits if the kid was really sick with something or hurt bad? Baron Max
true. I once got a call from the school saying my son fell off some playground equipment. In the old days he would have gone to the nurse and she would have checked it out. Instead he went to the office, the secretary said he was fine and sent him back to class. I got home, took one look, and went to the ER. Broken wrist. I know the school does the best they can with what they have, I just wish they weren't so busy raising some of these people's kids (breakfast, daycare, birthcontrol, etc)
I had a nurse at school too, I think they still have them. In later years had a private guard too, mostly to keep outsiders away and to stop children sneaking out of classes. Of course, we still did it.
Use the internet to teach kids at home that way their parents can handle their ills. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
LOL.. Wikipedia- School Wiki.. We don't have nurses either.. possibly because everything is handled by the local hospital ?
