    Hey,

been brainstorming career paths for myself. I was wondering if anyone knew much about becoming a journalist.

i was thinking - political journalist- cultural journalist- feature journalist- literary journalist.

if anyone has any info on quickly getting into a decent position in any of the careers say or PM plz. The main problem is. whilst i dont have to do a journalism degree to become a journalist. it would give me a bonus. But i really wanted to do English Literature degree

i was thinking maybe doing that and then Journalism MA or something. Does anyone know how picky they are about me having a degree in Journalism? if I've got a degree in an academic, English related subject that involves lots of writing, would that be enough?

Furthermore, does anyone know what your goal is as a journalist promotions-wise?or is it basically getting a permanent column in a broadsheet newspaper or magazine with complete creative freedom?
