http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/leo031405.asp I wonder if James R will be along shortly to censor this undesirable information? Perhaps Tiassa will also drop by to give a long winded rant about something tangential. Who knows?
Gee, mountainhare. It's a wonder that more people haven't cottoned on to how there's really no glass ceiling after all, and how all women have things just great in comparison to men. Next you'll be telling us that women have never been oppressed.
James R: That's what happens with left wing radicals such as yourself force people to adopt a mindset riddled with guilt. I know your type well: A self hating white male.
Welcome back after your break, mountainhare. Do you plan to contribute something useful to sciforums, or are you planning to self-destruct? I guess we'll find out.
Immediately after I skimmed the starting post, I instinctively knew that you would be among the first to 'attack'. It's almost as if you want to think that women are oppressed. You just couldn't resist the urge to mock him right? There is nothing constructive about this. I'm trying to put my finger on why. After reading this your first reaction will be to try and defend yourself, to defend your ego. But just stop and think over this before you reply.
Don't look at me. I've been away from the workforce for ... um ... five years? Five and a half? It's been a while. About the only thing I can say is that I did replace a woman when I got a promotion at my last job. (She had moved on to a different company.) But even before I got the promotion, I was still making 20% more than she was. There was a reason the company went out of its way to discourage us from discussing compensation issues with our peers. Too bad they screwed up the envelopes with our checks in them. A lot can change in five years, though.
Tiassa: Because we all know that one anecdotal incident is representative of a general trend. And if a man is paid more than a woman, it must be a gender issue. Good one, Tiassa. someguy: Haha. Well no, Tiassa is the one who can't resist the urge to mock in his snide little tone. James is the one who can't resist acting holier-than-thou, before handing out infractions like a paedophile hands out jellybeans. And to think that he condemns fundamentalists for a similar attitude.
Sound encouraging. I'm all for color and sex blind employment. After all, when our kids are older, I want my wife to receive fair pay when she rejoins the workforce.
